Big-hearted local firm helps Galston Guides to beat vandals
27 AugustGalston Guides have had some great support at the start of their new session, with the owners of a local firm making sure their hut is safe after it was damaged by vandals.
Scott Davidson, managing director of Newmiln's only remaing lace makers Morton Young and Borland, has donated a security gate and metal shutters to the Galston Brownies, Rainbows and Guides after their hut was broken into twice in one week.
And the factory even installed the new security gear for the group much to the delight of the hard-working Friends of Guiding committee, who have worked really hard to bring the place up to scratch after both break-ins.
