Popular teen fiction writer Cathy MacPhail delighted aspiring young authors when she delivered a hands-on workshop on creative writing to pupils of St Joseph's and Loudoun Academies this week.
The Fatal accident Inquiry into the tragic death of Alison Hume, who fell down a disused mineshaft, opened in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, 1 March.
A recent Charity Ball in aid of Cancer Care and organised by local hairdresser Amanda Gilmour was held at the Park Hotel Kilmarnock.

Mr.Burns commented on Galston mentioning the Sun 'glinting'.
It is now easier to see how Galston looks as the recent changes let in the light.
Galston on Irvine and Anne.
Visited by Monk,Patriot,King,Earl,Marquis,Knight,Poet,Evangelist,Covenanter,Miner,Miller,Inventor and now interested tourists.
Two new memorials last week and a few more in the pipeline.
Hopefully a bright future.
